WATER

Fresh water is water with less than 0.5 parts per thousand dissolved salts. Fresh water may be found in lakes, rivers, and bodies of underground water. The ultimate source of fresh water is the precipitation of atmospheric water vapor in the form of rain and snow.

In many places, "mineral water" is often colloquially used to mean carbonated water (which is usually carbonated mineral water, as opposed to tap water)."

Mineral water is water containing minerals or other dissolved substances that alter its taste or give it therapeutic value. Salts, sulfur compounds, and gases are among the substances that can be dissolved in the water. Mineral water can often be effervescent. Mineral water can be prepared or can occur naturally.

Drinking distilled water is quite common. The use of distilled water as drinking water has been shown to be healthy[citation needed] and, in many cases, safer than filtered water[citation needed].
Many beverage manufacturers use distilled water to ensure a drink's purity and taste. Bottled distilled water is sold as well, and can usually be found in
supermarkets. Water purification, such as distillation, is especially important in regions where water resources or tap water is not suitable for ingesting without boiling or chemical treatment.
