Cebu Island

Cebu one of the Visayan Islands, is a main island of the
Phillippines of which it and small nearby islands form a
province.

Its area is 4,422 km2 and its maximum elevation is 1,013m.

The provincial population of 2,646,000 (1990) is of Malayan
and Spanish descent.

A volcanic island largely overlaid with coral.Cebu has a
mountainous interior on COASTAL PLAINS,PEANUTS,
MAGUEY,CORN,RICE,SUGARCANE,COTTON,HEMP
and TOBACCO are grown.

The island's exports include COPRA,SUGAR,MOLASES,
COPPER and PYRITES.COAL is mined and OIL deposits
has been found.
